What we do
Environment Subcommittee
The Environment Subcommittee focuses on the many activities undertaken by the industry to reduce environmental impacts, as well as on the development and implementation of environmental laws and regulations governing airlines.
Mandate:
The following mandate was developed and agreed to by the
Subcommittee:
Foster a policy and regulatory framework that delivers sustainable
environmental benefits, and advance the environmental stewardship of
member airlines.
The Subcommittee will achieve this by:
- Proactively identifying environmental issues and delivering economically responsible and attainable industry environmental solutions.
- Providing governmental and stakeholder representation.
The following criteria will be used to assess the pertinence of NACC Environmental Subcommittee involvement. The Subcommittee should get involved only of the issue is:
- Of national or international interest
- One where the final outcome is likely to be precedent-setting
- One where industry consensus is achievable
- One where industry involvement can impact the outcome
- Of significant importance to the industry
- One where NACC involvement is critical to successful resolution
