Canada's airlines also work with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority for airport security and the Canada Border Services Agency, particularly on the development of the new Air Policy Services Framework for customs and immigration screening for international flights.
Ownership and oversight of airports in Canada is the responsibility of Transport Canada according to the National Airports Policy. This Policy leases the land and facilities to individual, not-for-profit airport authorities, which each pay rent to the government based on the number of passengers served.
